imgresIn the film business, Robert McKee, is Mr. Story.  A Fulbright scholar, McKee the most sought after screenwriting lecturer around the globe, having dedicated the last 30 years to educating and mentoring screenwriters, novelists, playwrights, poets, documentary makers, producers, and directors internationally. Since 1984, more than 100,000 students have taken McKee’s Story course like a rite of passage to artistic excellence in an overcrowded field of would-be contenders. Peter Jackson (writer/director THE LORD OF THE RINGS Trilogy, THE HOBBIT) has lauded him as “The Guru of Gurus.” Here, McKee talks to Mark about how stories have enabled our species to survive, how and why narratives work, and why we need to promote enlightening story telling if our civilization is to survive.
