Creativity is the lifeblood of a happy life. Engagement with your personal muse, whether you are an artist or not, is the secret to a passionate existence. But how many of us cultivate our creative life on a daily basis and greet each day with beginner’s mind? In the struggle for survival, status, and security, many of us sacrifice our muse and the brio that comes when engaging her.
In this six-week online class, you’ll take stock of your aspirations and ask yourself what’s next? What do you long to create? Where would you like to journey? What baggage do you need to discard in order to travel lighter? What stories need revision? Which relationships should be reimagined if not left behind? Where are you stuck or most afraid?
This transformational class will make clear that resilience and reinvention are deeply linked and offer tools for strengthening your creative connection.

How the online class work
Every Monday during the six-week session, you will receive an email with the week’s assignment. Students turn in their work by the following Saturday evening. Assignments should be no more than 1,000 words.
On Sunday, Mark responds to each student, commenting and giving notes on their writing and progress. Students will also be invited to correspond with him personally with questions on the theme, lessons, or the Writing to Awaken process.
In the week before the start of the class, you will receive an invitation to join the Google Group for the class where all assignments, individual work and my weekly comments will be posted. Using Google Groups allows the class to read, comment and support each other’s work in a positive and nurturing environment.
Two group teleconferences are held during the session to provide an opportunity for students to ask questions and talk together about the work we are doing. These will be scheduled once the class begins.
