We will spend the day exploring personal stories as pathways to wisdom and self-encounter. When we learn to see the mythic dimension of our struggles, losses, triumphs, and transformations, we gain insight into our spiritual progress — the state of our soul — and what is asking for deeper attention. Join me for Writing Your Future Story: A Six-Week Course in Vision and Imagination from July 1 – August 11. Every life is a work of the imagination. We create our own futures, imagine ourselves forward in time, through the stories we tell ourselves about who we are, who we’re not, what is possible, and what can never be.
In this imaginative course on self-reinvention, you will have the opportunity to explore new story lines for the year ahead, including fresh possibilities, surprising shifts, and novel ways of expanding — and improving, your future life. More info and registration.

This November, I’m leading a retreat at The Garrison Institute with my friend and collaborator, Dr. Maria Sirois. It’s called “Writing To Awaken: Exploring Loneliness, Self-Reliance, and Riddle of Human Relationship,” and takes place November 17-19. Garrison is a stunning venue on the Hudson River and I hope you’ll be able to join us! Here’s a blog on the kind of work we’ll be doing. Click here for more information and registration.
What a great time I’ve been having as always at Omega Blue Spirit. Stephan Rechtschaffen has created a real life paradise for reflection and renewal, self-exploration, spiritual practice, and being in this superb tropic setting. Howler monkeys, baby turtles hatching on the beach, chartreuse colored birds in the trees. And teaching with old friends and admired colleagues, Roshi Joan Halifax, Joan Borysenko, Elena Brower — big souls all. I look forward to teaching this retreat every year. Next week, Australia. Peace.
